Sunday Round Up

Every week I read numerous articles, snippets, tweets, Instagram posts, and many other things that I want to save somewhere, because I find them interesting, inspiring, funny, cute, etc. Lately, I've been super into Pinterest because of that, since I can quickly save the top image of whatever I'm reading and always have it link back to the original article. But, what better way to do a roundup of some of the best ones, than to post it on here?! So, going forward, I will try my hardest to publish a roundup of my five favorite things from the week. Although I definitely can't promise I'll keep it to just five :)

March Madness

I'm not sure I can point to a single link for this event. As I love watching basketball, I've read numerous articles to get ready for March Madness and the sure to ensue rage of busted brackets. With this year's tournament nearing historic highs for upsets, my bracket looks like it's bleeding. It's ok, as long as Gonzaga continues its run, I'm fine messing up all other calls.

Bracket 2:

New York Pup Commute

As I get ready mentally to move to NYC, I have to be realistic about some facts that I've never had to deal with before, such as moving to a tiiiiiiny apartment, 4-5 months under heavy snow, one of the most populated cities in the world, and the fact that I will have no car. Moving around with Zoey in a car is already difficult to begin with, but thinking of taking her somewhere on the bus is terrifying. She can't see something new without wanting to lick it, and I'm not sure other commuters will appreciate that. So I thought this article from Gothamist about well behaved dogs in the subway in NYC was adorable, especially since it includes pictures! Hopefully Zoey and I will find a way to have a calm commute in NYC when we need to go out.

Having a pup makes you healthier

I feel like there will definitely be a doggy theme to the articles I post on here, after all, BarkPost is one of my most visited sites daily. So, when they posted this article about how dogs make their humans healthier, I had to share it! Let's see what Zoey has done for me from the 22 listed:

  1. Enhance your mood
  2. Keeps you active
  3. Petting a dog fights depression
  4. A sense of community
  5. Your personal heating pad
  6. Stronger immune systems
  7. Calm you down

Educational YouTube Channels

YouTube is the third most visited website worldwide, getting over 4 billion hits a day. While the majority of the viewers are likely looking for entertainment, YouTube is also a sensational resource for learning. One of my favorite channels is Ted Talks, a one stop shop for motivation, learning, and many more use cases. Recently I ran across this great article listing the top 9 educational YouTube channels. I'm looking forward to checking out Nobel PrizeTalks at Google, and list 25.

10 quick and easy one pot recipes

And lastly, of course, there had to be something about food. Since I don't have a gigantic kitchen or appliances, I've been trying very hard to make meals with as few pots and tools as possible. When I ran across this list, I loved how simple the recipes were and the fact that they can all be made in just one pot! I'm looking forward to testing out the Cheeseburger Casserole, Mexican Skillet Pasta, Lasagna, and Pizza Pasta Bake.
