Ceramic painting

During my senior year of college I walked by a ceramic painting studio at the mall and decided to give it a shot. I was surprised to find that it was an extremely relaxing experience. Since then, I've tried to go once a month, and have eventually begun working on bigger pieces. Here are some that I've painted in the past:

This was the first one I ever painted. It seemed simple enough when I picked it up. However, those shoes required some stable hands for straight painting.

This I painted for my mom for Mother's Day. Definitely my easiest one ever.

This one I painted for my dad. It was a bit more fun than the ones I'd done before.

This one was my first attempt at freehand painting. Clearly I need to work on my rainbow and cloud painting skills.

This one was my favorite so far to paint. I wanted to buy a ceramic water bowl for Zoey and then saw that the shop had one, so I decided to paint her one myself. I love how it turned out, especially since it's quite the reflection of what happens when we walk.

These were my first few. I've found that going alone and having my headphones with me have been the best way to relax. I'm currently working on a pretty big bowl that I'm sure will take about 10 trips to the shop to finish. It's all about relaxing though!
