Working on Shutterfly

One of my favorite things to do in January is to put together a photo album on Shutterfly of the previous year. While I usually try really hard to update it periodically during the year to make it easier in January, I seem to space out on it around July and then have to catch up later. In January, it's always hard to remember who took that photo that you really liked, or remember why the heck I was dressed up as a lollipop.

However, putting together this album is always a fun experience. I'd put together numerous photo albums in the past for special occasions, such as a trip somewhere. But lately, I've found that I also like to make one for the whole year. While small parties or get-togethers may not seem worthy of a whole photo album, all of these added up tell the story of your year. Many times, you see the same faces over and over again, and realize that person was one of your favorite people to hang out with all year. Or you remember a quick getaway you went on with your dog, that save for a few ripped socks, you would've forgotten about.

So, back to the book. I've used numerous programs for these photo albums, and Shuttefly is still my favorite. Only downside, you have to be connected to the internet, which can be a buzz-kill for some people. But the sizes offered, the backgrounds, layouts, stickers, frames, everything else, make up for it. It's a rather easy tool to use, and has always produced great results for me.

Give it a shot next time you return from an exotic vacation. Or put together some photos from your birthday party. In today's world where our lives are ruled by technology, you'll be surprised to find how much you'd missed flipping through an old photo album of your adventures.
